  • Arkia will operate rescue flights from Dubai to Tel Aviv this weekend.
  • Flydubai suspended its flights to Israel after an attempted terror attack.
  • Six flights are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
  • The flights require Shin Bet approval to proceed.
  • This marks the first Israeli airline landings in Dubai in eight months.

Israeli airline Arkia announced it will operate emergency rescue flights from Dubai to Tel Aviv this weekend, following the suspension of services by Flydubai after an attempted terror attack on one of its planes. This marks the first time in eight months that an Israeli airline will land in the UAE, with Arkia planning six flights on Friday and Saturday to bring stranded Israelis home.

The scheduled departure times from Dubai are: Friday at 15:10, 22:35, 00:05, and 01:00; and Saturday at 06:30 and 16:55.

However, the flights are contingent on approval from the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency). If approved, these will be the first landings by Israeli carriers in Dubai since the start of Operation "Lion's Roar," due to previous security concerns that had prohibited Israeli airlines from operating the route.
