Flydubai Suspends Israel Flights Amid Investigation; Arkia Prepares for Dubai Route

Flydubai announced on Wednesday a temporary suspension of its flights to and from Israel following an incident on flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Ben Gurion Airport. A company spokesperson stated the decision was made in coordination with relevant authorities to allow for further investigation into the circumstances of the event. The airline indicated the suspension would be re-evaluated as more information becomes available, emphasizing its commitment to passenger safety and support for the ongoing investigation.

In parallel, Israeli airline Arkia announced it is preparing to resume its Tel Aviv-Dubai route. However, Arkia clarified that the operation is still subject to necessary approvals. The company has been in talks for months with relevant parties to remove barriers and enable Israeli airlines to return to Dubai.

Arkia intends to operate two daily direct flights to Dubai, aiming to increase competition on the route and offer passengers a choice of Israeli carriers. The company is making operational and logistical preparations but has not yet announced an official start date for the flights, pending final approvals from state and security authorities.
