Tens of Thousands Attend Major Sukkot Celebration in Petah Tikva

Tens of thousands of people from all walks of life gathered for the "Great Simchat Beit Hashoeva in Israel" event hosted by the Mishkoltz Hasidic dynasty in Petah Tikva. The massive celebration took place at the city's largest stadium, the HaMoshava Stadium.

The event, sponsored by the Petah Tikva municipality, was attended by Mayor Rami Greenberg, senior police officials, rabbis, and community leaders. The highlight was a speech by Rabbi Mordechai Hager, the Rebbe of Mishkoltz, who is considered the spiritual leader of Petah Tikva. He emphasized the importance of Torah study for the protection of the Jewish people and suggested that those who prevent yeshiva students from studying are the true "deserters."

"Are yeshiva students called deserters?" the Rebbe asked. "The deserters are those who prevent yeshiva students from learning Torah! They have already deserted Torah study, which protects the Jewish people, and this is what causes wars and troubles! If we strengthen Torah and its learners, we will merit immediate redemption."

The Rebbe elaborated on the concept, using parables and Talmudic sources to illustrate that Torah study is the core of existence, while worldly needs are secondary. He drew parallels to historical instances where persecution of Torah study led to national calamities.

The celebration also featured performances by prominent Israeli and international singers, accompanied by large orchestras. The police deployed hundreds of officers to ensure security, and the Mishkoltz Kashrut division provided supervision for modesty and holiness. Many attendees sought blessings from the Rebbe, who is known for his wisdom and the efficacy of his blessings, attributed to his deep connection to Torah study.
