Gerrer Rebbe Issues Stern Warning Over Leaked Recordings

The Rebbe of Gur has issued a strong directive to his followers, via his secretary, Rabbi Yitzchak Broida, forbidding any discussion or dissemination of recently leaked recordings. The recordings, reportedly originating from within the Rebbe's family, have caused significant turmoil within the Hasidic community.

In a recorded message sent to tens of thousands of followers, Rabbi Broida conveyed the Rebbe's message, stating that the leaked materials are forbidden, constitute slander, cause division, and spread malicious gossip. He emphasized that engaging with these recordings causes great distress and is a serious offense.

The directive explicitly warns followers not to believe any of the leaked content and to immediately delete and destroy any copies they possess. The Rebbe's office stressed the extreme severity and danger of continuing to engage with the material.

Alongside the controversy, the community received positive news: the Rebbe, who had been unwell during the Sukkot holiday, is expected to resume public audiences on Tuesday evening at his residence in Jerusalem.

The message concluded with a call for unity and mutual goodwill, especially during the holiday period, urging followers to rejoice together in love and brotherhood.
