Hamza Shibli Admits Poor Mentality Hindered Maccabi Haifa Stint

Young Israeli football talent Hamza Shibli has reflected on his struggles to break into the Maccabi Haifa squad, attributing his previous difficulties to a subpar mentality and approach.

Shibli, 21, who is currently on loan at Ahi Nazareth, stated in an interview with "The News Room - 5 on Air" that his "mentality and approach were not good enough for a club like Maccabi Haifa." He believes he has since undergone a significant personal transformation and is now worthy of a place in the top-tier club.

"Today I see myself and I have completely changed it. I am worthy of being there," Shibli asserted. He chose to join Ahi Nazareth this season to improve his performance, accumulate statistics, and help the team achieve its goals, with the ultimate aim of returning to Maccabi Haifa next year to prove his capabilities.

When asked about comparisons to other young Israeli stars who have emerged, Shibli expressed confidence in his own abilities, stating, "Honestly, I am sure that I do not fall short of any player here in the country." He views his career path as unique and believes his experiences are strengthening him and clarifying his future objectives.

Shibli reiterated his commitment to changing his attitude and mentality, expressing strong self-belief in his potential to achieve his dreams. He indicated that he is focused on his on-field performance, leaving contract matters to his agent.
