Maccabi Haifa Talent Hamza Shibli Admits Attitude Issues

Hamza Shibli, once considered a promising young talent in Israeli football, has acknowledged that his previous attitude and mentality were not sufficient for Maccabi Haifa. Shibli, currently on loan to Ahi Nazareth for the season, stated in an interview that he has since undergone a significant personal transformation.

"My mentality and my approach were not good enough for a club like Maccabi Haifa," Shibli told "The Newsroom - 5 on Air." He added, "Today I see myself and I have completely changed that. I am worthy of being there."

The 21-year-old midfielder explained his decision to join Ahi Nazareth this season was to focus on performing well, improving his statistics, and helping his new team achieve its goals. He expressed his strong belief that he will return to Maccabi Haifa next year and prove he belongs at that level.

Shibli also addressed comparisons to other young Israeli stars who have broken through, asserting his confidence in his own abilities. "Honestly, I am sure that I do not fall short of any player here in the country," he said. "Everyone has their own path, what they need to go through in life. I am not stressed, I do not regret what is happening, this is a path to go through. It only strengthens me and opens my eyes to what to do next to reach the levels I dream of."

He reiterated his commitment to his changed approach, stating, "I have definitely changed my attitude and my mentality. I believe in myself very much, that I will break through and take a leap forward. I will reach the levels I think and dream of." Shibli indicated he leaves contract matters to his agent, focusing solely on his performance on the field.
