Tzipi Zigerman, a Montreal resident who witnessed a shooting in the city’s Côte-des-Neiges district, told ynet’s studio that local residents are living with “fear and anxiety.” She said, “Until we know whether it was directed at us, it is terribly frightening. We are not getting any answers.”
Zigerman said she and others tried to reach everyone they could, but felt ignored. According to her, they were confined to their homes for six hours, were not allowed outside, and the streets and roads remained closed afterward. She called the situation “crazy.”
She also spoke about Israeli citizen Michael Mizrahi, who was killed in the incident. Zigerman said no one was being allowed near him, including for handling the body or burial. “It is truly sad,” she said, adding that “his son is devastated.”
