Israeli Finance Minister Reacts to Flydubai Plane Hijacking Attempt
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich responded Wednesday to the dramatic incident aboard a Flydubai flight from the UAE to Israel, which made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. The drama unfolded after the co-pilot allegedly attacked the pilot and attempted to crash the plane with 180 passengers and crew onboard.
"The State of Israel must address the intent and not the outcome," Smotrich stated. He added, "One who tried to crash a plane and murder 180 Israelis must pay as if he murdered them. He and any country or terror organization that sent him."
Smotrich also commented on the passengers' safe landing in Saudi Arabia, calling it "a song of thanks to the Master of the Universe for the great miracle of salvation." He concluded with a biblical quote, "I will pursue my enemies and destroy them; I will not turn back until they are destroyed."
