Finance Minister Smotrich Calls for Harsh Response to Dubai Flight Attack Attempt

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich responded on Sunday to the dramatic attempted terror attack on the "Flydubai" aircraft, in which a terrorist attempted to harm 180 Israeli passengers. Smotrich emphasized that the state's response should be based not solely on the circumstances of the incident, but on the magnitude of the threat.

"The State of Israel must address the intent, not just the results," Smotrich stated. He called for a severe and uncompromising policy against any entity involved in the incident, declaring, "Whoever tried to crash a plane and murder 180 Israelis should be treated as if he murdered them. This applies to him and to any country or terror organization that sent him."

Alongside his call for a strong reaction, Smotrich expressed gratitude for the incident concluding without any fatalities. "A song of thanks to the Master of the Universe for the great miracle of salvation," he said.

He concluded with a firm message to all security and government levels: "Our duty is to pursue my enemies and destroy them, and I will not turn back until they are consumed."
