Election Authority Seeks Details on 'Fly & Vote' Initiative Amid Allegations

The head of Israel's Central Elections Committee, Judge Noam Sohlberg, has requested additional information from the organizers of the 'Fly & Vote' project regarding the services offered and associated fees. The project, organized by the AID Coalition company, aims to facilitate the travel of eligible voters residing abroad to Israel to cast their ballots. The "Likud" party previously filed an appeal against the project's organizers, alleging that they are offering incentives to individuals utilizing their services. Likud claims these incentives constitute prohibited campaign gifts. The appeal is scheduled for review on October 6th. The Central Elections Committee is currently gathering further details on the project, with Sohlberg specifically seeking information crucial for the appeal's consideration. Discrepancies have been noted between the data provided by the project's initiators and that held by the committee. Following the committee's review, the matter is expected to be escalated to the Supreme Court (Bagatz).
