Likud Party Petitions Election Committee Against "Fly & Vote" Initiative

The Likud party has filed a petition with the Election Committee against the AID Coalition, the organization behind the "Fly & Vote" initiative. This program offers financial incentives to encourage Israelis living abroad to return and vote in elections. Likud argues that this constitutes a clear infrastructure for serious violations that undermine the core of Israeli democracy.

In their petition, Likud stated that three independent layers justify the committee chairman's intervention. First, the direct link between voting and the provision of services and benefits. Second, the provision of benefits and gifts. Third, organized election activity by a non-party entity, which should be subject to registration and transparency rules under party financing laws. Likud contends that these factors, combined with circumstantial evidence such as the organization's funding sources, its connection to protest groups, and campaign activities, negate the possibility of believing its self-declared non-partisan status.

Likud urged the committee chairman to order the AID Coalition to submit affidavits and documents detailing its funding sources and scope, the benefits provided, the number of registered and approved participants, gift cards issued or promised, the identity and investment of partner organizations, campaign expenditures, and operational ties between the groups. The goal is to ensure that Knesset elections are conducted on an equal and transparent playing field, free from prohibited benefits and election activities operating outside the framework of legal registration, reporting, and limitations.
