Likud Threatens Legal Action Over Alleged Election Bribery in Fly & Vote Initiative

The Likud party has launched a formal complaint accusing the Fly & Vote initiative of serious election bribery offenses, threatening to petition the Central Elections Committee if the activities do not cease immediately. The complaint, sent to AID Coalition, the Israeli Camp Association, and other senior bodies on August 16, 2026, demands the termination of the initiative’s operations, removal of related publications, and disclosure of extensive data on funding, operations, and voter surveys by August 24.

Likud alleges that Fly & Vote and Fly & Aid offer logistical support to Israelis abroad, including coordinated efforts to reduce flight costs and possibly charter planes to bring voters to Israel, which the party claims could constitute illegal incentives to influence voter turnout. The party also demands full access to survey data collected from 5,000 Israelis abroad, suspecting the gathering of politically sensitive information such as voting intentions and political affiliations, which AID Coalition denies.

The letter further accuses AID Coalition of channeling foreign donations from unidentified sources linked to protests against judicial reforms, and criticizes the selective media promotion of the initiatives, which Likud argues targeted left-leaning audiences while neglecting right-wing voters. AID Coalition rejects all allegations, emphasizing that Fly & Vote is a nonpartisan American nonprofit that does not subsidize travel costs, which participants cover themselves, providing only bureaucratic and logistical assistance.

Likud demands transparency on the initiatives’ estimated costs, funding sources, and current activity status, as well as clarifications on connections with the Israeli Camp Association and legal representatives. Failure to comply will prompt Likud to seek injunctions and fines from the Central Elections Committee. The dispute highlights tensions over voter mobilization efforts among Israelis abroad ahead of the 2026 Knesset elections.
