Doral Completes Energization of Major 722 MW Solar Project in Israel
Renewable energy company Doral announced the successful energization of its 'Hadrei Shean' solar project, located in the Emek HaMayanot region of Israel. The project, representing an investment of approximately 850 million shekels, is expected to commence commercial operation in the coming months.
Upon activation, the 'Hadrei Shean' facility will have a capacity of 722 megawatts per hour, generating enough electricity to power around 50,000 homes. Doral anticipates the project will yield annual revenues of approximately 150 million shekels. The company also highlighted that the established infrastructure provides a foundation for future large-scale electricity consumption, including a potential integration of a 166 MWIT data center, aligning with Doral's PVDC strategy. This strategy focuses on linking energy production and storage assets with significant electricity consumers, particularly data centers, leveraging energy infrastructure for the growing data center sector driven by AI and cloud services.
Yoni Hantzis, CEO of Doral Group, described 'Hadrei Shean' as Doral's flagship project in Israel and one of the most significant renewable energy initiatives undertaken in the country. He emphasized its role in transforming a long-term vision into a national-scale energy infrastructure capable of producing and storing vast amounts of electricity, thereby contributing substantially to regional and national energy supply.
Itamar Matiash, Head of the Emek HaMayanot Regional Council, noted that the 'Hadrei Shean' project showcases the energy and entrepreneurial strength of the region. He stated that the collaboration between several local communities and Doral has resulted in a pioneering project that significantly positions Emek HaMayanot as a leader in green energy production within Israel.
