Otzma Yehudit Candidate Yossi Goldberg Reveals Deep Ties to Belz Hasidism

Yossi Goldberg, a candidate on the Otzma Yehudit party list, revealed his deep familial connection to the Belz Hasidic dynasty in a recent interview. Goldberg, who is positioned ninth on the party's slate for the upcoming elections, shared personal details about his upbringing and family background on Kol Chai radio.

He spoke about his spiritual roots and his special bond with the Belz Hasidic community, stemming from his childhood memories as the grandson of Rabbi Yehoshua Goldberg, a devoted follower of Belz. Goldberg stated that his grandfather's stories and influence significantly shaped his spiritual world and served as a crucial anchor throughout his life.

To further illustrate his connection, Goldberg played a song by the Belz Hasidic choir during the broadcast, explaining that it directly links him to his grandfather's legacy. The 39-year-old, married with four children, is a co-founder of the Givat Liubavitch community in Kfar Chabad and Lod. He has extensive experience as an advisor to ministers and Knesset members on government projects.

His placement on the Otzma Yehudit list, announced by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, is part of the party's strategy to broaden its support base and appeal to segments of the Chabad and wider Haredi public. Ben-Gvir highlighted Goldberg's skills and understanding of the Haredi sector's needs, describing him as a dynamic doer who can effectively represent and assist the community in the Knesset.
