Court Cancels Will, Restoring $7 Million Estate to Elderly Woman's Family

A Jerusalem family court has invalidated a will worth over 25 million shekels (approximately $7 million USD), after an elderly, childless woman was found to be the victim of emotional manipulation. The court suspects that the woman was convinced to bequeath her entire fortune to the son of her mother's librarian, disinheriting her husband and other relatives who would have been entitled to her estate by law.

Advocate Tal Sharabi, representing the deceased woman's husband, detailed the case in an interview with Reshet 13's "Moriah and Berko" program. Sharabi explained that the suspect allegedly exploited the woman's vulnerable emotional and medical state, isolating her from her support network and applying intense emotional pressure to gain control of her assets. "He simply played with the deceased's mind in a planned manner, exploiting her innocence and loneliness," Sharabi stated.

Based on the clear evidence and difficult testimonies presented during the trial, the family court determined that the will was signed under undue influence and severe manipulation. The court ordered the complete annulment of the will.

This significant ruling returns the woman's wealth to her husband and family, serving as a stark warning against the exploitation of vulnerable elderly individuals by self-serving parties.
