TikTok Star Lir Cohen Defends Private Jet Gift Amid Death Threats

Israeli TikTok influencer Lir Cohen, who has 194,000 followers, has responded to a wave of online backlash after sharing videos about her boyfriend surprising her with a private jet trip to Cyprus for a vacation. Cohen stated that she received numerous hateful comments, including death wishes, prompting her to address the situation.

"People wished me dead and other terrible things," Cohen said in a video. "I decided to stop everything and explain exactly what happened. Both because I feel I came across the wrong way and because my intention was misunderstood." She explained that her boyfriend surprised her with the flight, which was a novel experience for her, and she shared it as part of her life content.

Cohen, who has been with her boyfriend for a year and a half, emphasized their shared enjoyment of travel and life experiences. She clarified that her earlier post, which advised women not to settle for a man who wouldn't fulfill their dreams, was misinterpreted. "The dream for me specifically was a private jet, that doesn't mean someone else will have the same dream," she explained. "Every woman has a different dream. Let the man fulfill your dreams as you should fulfill his dreams."

She further elaborated that the message was intended to be empowering for women, encouraging them to pursue their aspirations with supportive partners. Cohen shared that she fulfilled her boyfriend's dream of traveling to Thailand, and her own dreams include starting a family and owning a home. While disappointed by the negative reaction, she stated she was not angry, but rather surprised by the intensity of the backlash.
