Israel's Foreign Ministry Reports No Prosecutions for Settlement Goods in Netherlands

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated it has no information regarding any cases where the discovery of goods from Judea and Samaria in the luggage of Israeli travelers has led to criminal prosecution in the Netherlands. This information was relayed by Vitaly Novoselov, a commentator for the YouTube channel "Newsru. Nepetchatnoe," citing a source within the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

The source indicated that, to date, no instances have been reported that resulted in criminal proceedings after items from Judea, Samaria, or the Golan Heights were found in passengers' luggage. While the possibility of criminal measures exists, it remains unclear how Dutch authorities will implement the new regulations, according to the source.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Israeli citizens to refrain from carrying products from areas subject to the import ban. Previously, the ministry had warned travelers to the Netherlands about potential lengthy baggage inspections and stated it was investigating the scope of these checks and the application of the new rules.

A ban on importing goods from Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria, Arab neighborhoods of Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights has been in effect in the Netherlands since September 22. This restriction applies to items within passengers' personal luggage, and violations could potentially lead to criminal liability.
