The Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to one of the biggest NBA deals in recent years, sending superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis to Miami. Milwaukee will receive Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, and three first-round picks.
According to the report, Miami will also send Milwaukee the No. 13 pick in the upcoming NBA draft, plus unprotected first-round selections in 2031 and 2033. The Bucks will additionally get the right to swap picks in the 2030 draft and a second-round pick in the 2033 draft.
The trade is currently a direct two-team deal, but it will not become official until July 6. Until then, there is still a chance other teams could be added and the package expanded, as happened last summer when a Phoenix-Houston agreement grew into a seven-team trade.
For Miami president Pat Riley, the move adds to a long history of major acquisitions, a list that includes LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal, Chris Bosh, Alonzo Mourning and Jimmy Butler. Antetokounmpo, 31, a two-time league MVP and the 2021 Finals MVP who led Milwaukee to the title, is expected to pair with Bam Adebayo as Miami targets another run at the Eastern Conference lead and the championship.
