Shlomo Sharf Endorses Yair Lapid, Cites 'No Zigzagging'

Former Israeli national football team coach Shlomo Sharf has publicly endorsed Yair Lapid and the 'Achva' party, stating Lapid is the "only person who hasn't zigzagged." Sharf made the declaration in a social media video alongside the opposition leader, praising Lapid for forming governments without the ultra-Orthodox and for compromising to unite the country.

The endorsement came during a meeting where Lapid joined Sharf and his family to watch a football match. The conversation shifted to Sharf's granddaughter, Mai Neeman, who was killed at the Nova music festival on October 7. Sharf described her as an "excellent soldier" and a "child of a heart of gold," expressing his pain that no government official contacted his family after her death.

Meanwhile, associates of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared a clip of journalist Ayelet Hason refuting claims that Netanyahu was warned of an impending Hamas attack. Hason, in an interview, questioned the validity of reports that Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel warned Netanyahu days before the October 7th attack, noting Kamel did not meet with top Israeli political or defense officials during a brief visit. Netanyahu's team used Hason's remarks to counter what they termed "false blood libels."
