Wolt Courier Alleges Sexual Assault by Customer, Leading to Charges

An Israeli woman working as a courier for Wolt has come forward with allegations of sexual assault by a customer after delivering a purchase. The incident, which occurred on November 7, 2025, has left her with severe psychological trauma, preventing her from returning to work and causing her to fear strangers. She recounted to Ynet that she was delivering an order to a client's home when the client's husband, 37-year-old Yaniv Ben-Adiva, allegedly prevented the elevator door from closing, forcibly embraced her, and committed sexual acts against her after she refused his advances twice. Following the incident, the woman filed a police complaint, and Ben-Adiva has since been indicted.

Nearly a year later, the courier, identified as A., finds it difficult to discuss the details but has chosen to share her story publicly to encourage other victims to report their experiences. She stated, "This destroyed my sense of security. I stopped working, and my relationship with my partner also suffered. I broke down crying at the police station." The assault has impacted her ability to trust people, made her fearful of men's touch, and led her to quit her job entirely, as she feels psychologically unable to return to work or even function normally.

Despite initial feelings of shame and guilt, A. now understands she is not to blame and credits her partner and mother for their support. She described a supportive experience at the police station when filing her report and feels reassured by the indictment, believing in the justice system. She hopes her public account will empower other victims to seek help from the police, the justice system, or support centers.

A. also expressed disappointment with Wolt, stating the company "turned its back" on her, initially refusing to provide customer information without a police report and later declining to assist with psychological support or compensation, claiming it was not their responsibility. Wolt issued a statement emphasizing that courier safety is a top priority and that they are cooperating with the police, but declined further comment due to the ongoing legal proceedings.

Yaniv Ben-Adiva's lawyer stated that his client completely denies the charges and that all defense evidence will be presented in court. Maya Fisher-Barzilai, the lawyer representing A. through the Ministry of Justice's legal aid program for victims of sexual offenses, highlighted A.'s desire to prevent future violence by sharing her story.
