Ex-National Security Advisor Criticizes Netanyahu's Handling of October 7th

Dr. Eyal Hulata, former National Security Advisor, stated in an interview on 103FM that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is refusing to take responsibility for the failures leading up to the October 7th Hamas attacks. Hulata specifically criticized Netanyahu's approach, suggesting that instead of accepting accountability, the Prime Minister is deflecting blame onto others, which he believes is damaging to the country's systems.

Hulata also commented on Netanyahu's recent visit to the United Arab Emirates, emphasizing that such diplomatic engagements should be transparent and not conducted in secrecy. He was questioned about the importance of accepting responsibility, to which he responded that it is a moral imperative, not just for successes but also for failures. He argued that the current political climate, characterized by mutual blame, leads to internal conflicts and undermines national institutions.

Furthermore, Hulata called for the immediate establishment of a state commission of inquiry into the events of October 7th. He expressed concern that three years after the failures, the public still lacks crucial information about who knew what, when, and what assessments were made. He asserted that the public has a right to know and that such investigations are standard in normal circumstances.
