Teenager Critically Injured After ATV Rollover in Jordan Valley
A 19-year-old male sustained severe, multi-system injuries after his all-terrain vehicle (ATV) overturned in an open area near the settlement of Petzael in the Jordan Valley on Tuesday. Emergency medical services, including MDA paramedics and a military medical team, arrived at the scene to provide life-saving treatment. The teenager was unconscious and required sedation, intubation, and blood transfusions before being airlifted by an MDA helicopter to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.
Paramedic Orit Ohana described the scene, stating the young man was found "confused and suffering from severe multi-system trauma." She detailed the critical care provided, including "life-saving medical treatment that included sedation, intubation, and blood transfusions," before his evacuation.
Israel Police have launched an investigation into the self-inflicted accident. Officers from the Beka'ot station are at the crash site, and traffic accident investigators from the Judea and Samaria district are en route to determine the circumstances of the rollover.
ATV accidents in open areas are not uncommon and have resulted in serious injuries and fatalities. In August, a 21-year-old Haredi man died in a similar incident when his ATV overturned near Neve Erez.
