Israel National Football Team Coach Refuses to Resign Amidst Pressure

Despite calls from senior figures within the Football Association to dismiss him following a humiliating 3-0 loss to Ireland, Israel national football team coach Ran Ben Shimon has stated he has no intention of resigning. Ben Shimon affirmed his commitment to continue in his role, even after two losses in the current Nations League campaign, which have seen the team concede six goals. Senior officials within the association believe Ben Shimon should take immediate responsibility, with some suggesting a departure at the end of the current Nations League campaign.

One senior official expressed concern about Ben Shimon's future on the sidelines, stating, "No matter what happens next, he must not stand on the sidelines in the Euro qualifiers if we truly want to get there." Ben Shimon, however, remains resolute, saying, "I know what I have done in my career, and I know what I will do in the future, I do not intend to resign."

The national team is preparing for their upcoming match against Kosovo on Thursday in Debrecen. Ben Shimon is expected to make several changes to the lineup, with Dor Peretz and Idan Nachmias likely to return to the starting XI. Nachmias is anticipated to replace Raz Shlomo in defense.
