Coach Ran Ben Shimon Must Resign After Humiliating Loss, Says Sports Analyst

Sports analyst Raz Zahavi has strongly criticized Israeli national football team coach Ran Ben Shimon, calling the team's recent performance the most humiliating in the history of Israeli football. Zahavi argued that Ben Shimon was unqualified for the position from the start, citing his past failures with major Israeli clubs like Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Beitar Jerusalem, as well as his unsuccessful tenure coaching the Cyprus national team. Zahavi believes Ben Shimon has dismantled a talented generation of players and is not up to the task of managing the national team.

Former national team coach Shlomo Sharf echoed these sentiments, describing the recent match as a "night that disgraced an entire nation" and a "disgraceful and humiliating night" against "enemies of the Jewish people." Sharf stated that Ben Shimon must resign immediately, citing his poor game management, incorrect lineups, and apparent lack of presence during the match. Sharf also questioned the inclusion of players like Yarden Shua and Eli Dasa, who are not regular starters for their clubs, and criticized the team's selection process, comparing it to a "summer camp."

Both analysts expressed deep disappointment and sadness over the team's performance, emphasizing the national humiliation. Zahavi urged Ben Shimon to resign before the next game, suggesting that even coaching without a manager would be preferable. He also called for the immediate return of Boni Ginzburg and Ofir Haim to the national team setup.
