Following two consecutive defeats in the Nations League, against Austria and Ireland, the Israeli national soccer team is preparing to face Kosovo on Thursday in Debrecen, Hungary. Coach Ran Ben Shimon is reportedly planning significant changes to the starting lineup, aiming to address what he perceived as a lack of toughness in the team's "humiliating" 3-0 loss to Ireland in their last match.

Ben Shimon is considering benching key players like Gabi Kancepolsky and Anan Khalaili, who were deemed "too soft" against Ireland. He intends to replace them with players known for stronger ball-winning and defensive capabilities. Faster, more technical players might be introduced in the second half to exploit potential fatigue in the opposing team. Defenders Idan Nachmias and Dor Peretz are expected to return to the starting lineup, while the forward position will be contested between Tai Baribo and Dor Turgeman. Eitan Azulai is also in contention for a starting spot.

"We tried to beat Ireland at soccer, and the concept wasn't smart against their power and size," sources within the team stated, reflecting on the Ireland game after multiple viewings. The team's physical and medical staff are conducting tests, including urine samples, to assess player fatigue and hydration levels, aiming to provide natural salts and identify those at higher risk of injury. The results of Idan Toklomati's tests are expected today to determine if he will be released due to a suspected knee sprain.
