Elitzur Netanya ended its Basketball Premier League season with an 84-89 loss to Galil Upper Galilee on Monday in Kfar Blum, in what was effectively its final appearance in the top flight for this season. Netanya had already been relegated in its previous game, and the defeat confirmed the club will drop to the National League.
Javonte McCoy led Netanya with 28 points, but he did not get enough help. Amit Gershon and Afik Tyomkin were the only other Netanya players in double figures, with 14 points each, while Maksim Filonenko grabbed 16 rebounds.
For Galil Upper Galilee, Cyril Langevine paced the offense with 22 points, and Josh Hawley added 16 off the bench. The game also featured an injury to Roy Pritzki, who scored 5 points in 9 minutes before hurting himself after crashing to the floor on a fast-break dunk attempt.
Netanya finished the season with 23 losses and 9 wins, and will now try to regroup in order to return to the top league next year.
