Jewish Community Leaders Report Rising Antisemitism Fears Globally

Leaders of Jewish communities in the United States, Canada, and Europe have reported a growing concern over rising antisemitism. The Jewish Agency acknowledged increased tension and heightened vigilance, while emphasizing that there is no widespread panic.

A rabbi in New York described conducting drills for all synagogue congregants on Saturdays, even if it means violating Shabbat, to practice evacuation routes for children and access to safe areas within the building. He expressed fears of a terror attack.

An Israeli official assisting Jewish communities in the U.S. with intelligence preparedness to thwart attacks against Jews, in close coordination with federal agencies, noted that such incidents are "discreetly referred to as hate crimes in the U.S."
