Rishon LeZion Marks Three Years Since October 7th With Central Memorial Ceremony

Three years after the October 7th attacks and the outbreak of the "Swords of Iron" war, the Rishon LeZion municipality will hold a series of memorial and resilience events throughout October. The central event, a ceremony titled "The Voice of Names and Faces," is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7th, 2026. During this ceremony, a memorial site dedicated to the city's fallen soldiers and victims, as well as their first-degree relatives, will be inaugurated. The event will be hosted by Tali Metz and will feature bereaved families, Mayor Raz Kinlstich, city council members, and artists. The gathering begins at 6:30 PM, with the ceremony starting at 7:00 PM at 8 Tomi Lapid Street. Entry is free and the event will be livestreamed on the mayor's Facebook page.

In addition to the main ceremony, various other memorial and resilience events for different audiences will take place across the city during October. These include a "Heroines Day," meetings with October 7th survivors, a screening of the film "Fighters," the "Running 7.10" national running initiative, a "Coffee. Memory. Story." project connecting residents with bereaved families, a "Wearing Strength" fair, a meeting with "Fauda" actors, a tour titled "In the Footsteps of the Gaza Border Heroines," a conference for senior citizens, and a seminar for high school students focusing on memory, commemoration, and the future. This year, we are inaugurating a memorial site that will always remind us of those we lost and serve as a place of memory, reflection, and commemoration for us all. I invite the city's residents to come to the events, ceremonies, and the memorial site, to pause their daily routines for a moment, remember the loved ones we lost, and be there for one another, especially for the bereaved families, as we did in the most difficult moments and as we will continue to do in the future."
