Woman Builds Elaborate Sukkah to Recreate Vacation Vibe at Home

Feiga Klein, a woman who longed for a vacation but couldn't fulfill the dream, decided to bring the feeling of a getaway to her own home by constructing a unique Sukkah. She dedicated herself to building the Sukkah, describing it as a project she poured her heart into, working day and night.

Klein aimed to create a Sukkah that was not only beautiful and special but also distinctly different from any she had experienced before. Her goal was for the Sukkah to provide her, even for a few hours, with the sensation of being on vacation in a different place, evoking imagery of the sea, sun, flowers, and the atmosphere of a Greek island.

"I've been dreaming of freedom for a long time," Klein told Kikar HaShabbat, "of getting out of the routine a bit, breathing, seeing the sea, colors, flowers, and different skies... And for various reasons, this vacation just didn't happen. So I decided to bring the vacation to me."

She explained that the Sukkah's design, including its window, door, and sofa, was entirely handmade using simple, readily available materials. Klein expressed that while she couldn't go on vacation this year, she discovered the possibility of building a small piece of it at home, transforming the holiday and the Sukkah into a pleasant, special, and tranquil experience.
