Bnei Brak Mayor's Office Searched for Suspected Listening Devices

An investigation is underway in the Bnei Brak municipality following suspicions that listening devices were installed and subsequently removed from the office of Mayor Hanoch Zeibert. The suspicion arose from information and signs that reached municipal officials. A company specializing in detecting listening devices was hired to conduct a sweep of the municipal building and the mayor's office. According to reports, the scan indicated that listening devices had indeed been present but were no longer there at the time of the inspection.

Following these findings, the municipality began reviewing security camera footage to track entries into the mayor's office and identify potential perpetrators. A suspicion emerged that access for the installation might have been gained using a chip previously associated with a senior municipal official. The identity of the individual who used the chip, the party behind the suspected installation, and their motive remain undetermined.

No police complaint has been filed yet. Municipal sources stated that a complaint is expected to be filed after the upcoming holiday, once internal investigations and evidence gathering are completed.
