Bnei Brak Mayor's Office Suspected of Bugging; Internal Probe Launched

An internal investigation is underway at the Bnei Brak municipality following suspicions that listening devices may have been installed in the office of Mayor Hanoch Zeibert. Municipal officials reportedly received information and observed several indicators suggesting potential surveillance.

A specialized company was hired to inspect the municipal premises, particularly the mayor's office. Initial findings from this inspection reportedly revealed clues indicating that eavesdropping equipment might have been placed, though no devices were ultimately found. This has led to the hypothesis that any installed equipment was removed before the specialists arrived.

Municipal officials are now reviewing surveillance camera footage to identify individuals who entered the mayor's office during the relevant period and to determine who had access. Investigations are also focusing on the use of an access badge previously linked to a senior municipal official, with investigators seeking to identify who might have used it.
