Defense Minister Katz Participates in Priestly Blessing at Western Wall
Defense Minister Israel Katz participated on Monday in the Priestly Blessing ceremony at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. He stood alongside the Chief Rabbis of Israel, the Rabbi of the Western Wall, and the Mayor of Jerusalem.
Katz, who is a Kohen (a descendant of the priestly class), expressed his emotion at being present at the sacred site, a remnant of the ancient Temple. He stated, "I am excited to stand here at the Western Wall, a remnant of our Temple, together with tens of thousands of the people of Israel, and as a Kohen, to bless the people of Israel with the Priestly Blessing." He led the prayers for the safety and well-being of IDF soldiers, security forces, and all citizens of Israel.
The Defense Minister concluded the ceremony by reciting the traditional blessing, "May the Lord bless you and keep you. Happy holiday to the people of Israel."
