Josh Nebo's European Career Plagued by Unprecedented Injury Luck

American center Josh Nebo, once considered one of Europe's top players during his tenure with Maccabi Tel Aviv, has experienced a remarkably unlucky streak of injuries since leaving the Israeli club in the summer of 2024. His first season with Olimpia Milano in 2024-2025 saw him suffer a severe injury in the opening EuroLeague game, limiting him to just nine total games. The following season, he sustained another injury early in the EuroLeague schedule, though he managed to play in 26 EuroLeague games, averaging 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds.

This past summer, Nebo transferred to FC Barcelona, expected to be their leading center. However, just before the EuroLeague season commenced, he sustained a leg injury during a team practice. The club announced he would miss two to three weeks, marking yet another setback at the start of a EuroLeague campaign.

Across his three seasons since departing Maccabi Tel Aviv, Nebo has consistently failed to complete more than two games at the beginning of the EuroLeague season. His injury history reveals at least eight separate injuries leading to absences in the slightly over two years since he left Maccabi.
