Man Arrested in Sweden for Defacing Israeli Flag at Book Fair

A man was arrested Saturday evening at the Gothenburg Book Fair in Sweden after spraying red liquid on an Israeli flag displayed at the stand of the Sweden-Israel Friendship Association. Video footage captured the individual, with red-stained hands, shouting accusations against Israel as security personnel removed him from the premises. Police intervened and escorted him out of the fair. Details regarding any charges filed against him have not yet been released.

The incident occurred amid heightened tensions surrounding the pro-Israel association's participation in the event. David Lega, president of the Sweden-Israel Friendship Association and a former Gothenburg municipal councilor, urged opponents to engage in debate and challenge the positions presented at the stand rather than attempting to suppress their expression.
