Defense Minister Israel Katz informed local council leaders that nine more communities in northern Israel have been officially recognized as frontier, or conflict-line, localities. The newly designated places are Sde Eliezer, Kisra-Sumei, Yesud Hama'ala, Or HaGanuz, Meron, Bar Yohai, Safsufa (Kfar Hoshan), Beit Jann, and Hulata.
The decision means these communities will join the list of areas eligible for the benefits and grants granted to Israeli settlements classified as conflict-line localities. No further details were given about the timing or scope of the aid.
The announcement expands the number of northern communities covered by the special designation, which is used to determine access to state support during periods of heightened security tension.
