Yoaz Hendel Rules Out Sitting With Netanyahu, Haredi Parties

Yoaz Hendel, chairman of the Reservists Party, stated on Monday that he would not sit in a government led by Benjamin Netanyahu and the Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) parties. Speaking on Galatz radio, Hendel clarified his stance on potential coalition formations ahead of the upcoming elections, emphasizing his focus on preventing figures like Goldknopf and Deri from making decisions.

Hendel expressed openness to joining a government led by Benny Gantz and Benjamin Netanyahu, or one involving Gantz and Naftali Bennett. However, he drew a firm line against participating in a coalition with Netanyahu and the Haredi parties, which he described as "the father of all abominations," and also rejected a government involving Gantz and Arab parties.

He previously criticized the Shas party, calling it "the father of all abominations" and stating he would not sit with anyone encouraging "mass draft evasion." Hendel also warned that if the Reservists Party does not perform strongly in the elections, the country could face further elections, as the current political blocs are not leading to progress.

Hendel's remarks come amidst ongoing political maneuvering and speculation regarding future coalition possibilities in Israel.
