Yoaz Hendel Demands Zionist-Only Government, Rejects Ultra-Orthodox and Arab Parties

Yoaz Hendel, chairman of the Reservists' Party and former Communications Minister, has set strict conditions for future political cooperation, insisting on a purely Zionist government excluding ultra-Orthodox and Arab parties. Speaking at the 'Megiddo Junction' event in the Megiddo Regional Council, Hendel clarified that his rejection targets political partnerships, not the populations themselves. He warned that without a Zionist government, Israel risks fragmenting into ultra-Orthodox enclaves and Arab enclaves devoid of statehood, threatening the future of Israeli children and grandchildren.

Hendel expressed particular disappointment with the ultra-Orthodox community, accusing them of violating Torah commandments by not serving in the military and standing aside. He stated, "Whoever does not serve in the army, the state cannot fund them, as it then strengthens and expands its own destruction." His stance aligns with his recent political alliance with MK Hili Tropper, who also opposes ultra-Orthodox participation in government and supports economic sanctions and mandatory conscription laws as coalition prerequisites.

Hendel also called for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resign, holding him responsible for the events of October 7. He emphasized his personal commitment to halting Israel's disintegration, passing a conscription law, and ensuring a Zionist government, rather than seeking ministerial positions. Hendel warned against forming a "just not Bibi" bloc, arguing such a coalition would fail or rely on Arab parties, leading to a Netanyahu comeback with a strong parliamentary majority.

The Reservists' Party is currently engaging with coalition MKs opposed to the exemption from military service law, including MK Moshe Solomon from Religious Zionism and MK Dan Illouz from Likud. The party has also established its own "Council of Torah Sages," which advocates for IDF conscription.
