Maccabi Tel Aviv secured a spot in the Winner Cup semifinals by defeating Elitzur Kiryat Ata 109-61. This victory follows their earlier Super Cup win, marking another step towards a potential second title this season. The team will now face Hapoel Jerusalem for a place in the final.

Despite the lopsided score, the game did not start in Maccabi's favor, with the team trailing in the first quarter. "We didn't start well and Kiryat Ata took advantage. We weren't focused, we didn't play simply, and we risked ourselves," a club source commented. However, once Maccabi took the lead, they dominated, extending their advantage to as much as 50 points.

Several players contributed significantly to the win, with Daniel Theis leading scorers with 15 points in his Israeli debut. Bonzie Colson added 14, John DiBartolomeo 13, and T.J. Leaf, returning from absence, scored 12. Jalen Clark and Amit Suss also added 11 points each, with Keeton Wallace scoring 10.

Maccabi managed player minutes carefully, with no player exceeding 23 minutes on the court. This was strategic preparation for a demanding week ahead, including two EuroLeague games against Besiktas and Olympiacos. The team acknowledges they are still in the early stages of team cohesion. "We are still only at the beginning, but yes, we thought we would be at a certain place, and it became clear to us that we are not in recent games," a club representative stated.

Coach Oded Katash reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with current player rotations and starting lineups, indicating ongoing efforts to integrate new players effectively. The coaching staff is actively seeking ways to improve the team's chemistry and performance.
