Legendary Coach Slams Israel National Football Team Coach After Humiliating Loss

Following a deeply disappointing performance by the Israeli national football team, legendary coach Shlomo Sharf has called for the immediate resignation of current coach Ran Ben Shimon. Sharf described the team's recent match as a "night that disgraced an entire nation" and a "national humiliation" against "haters of Jews."

Sharf, who previously led the national team, stated that Ben Shimon has failed in every aspect of his role, criticizing his player selections, substitutions, and overall game management. "He has ruined a very talented generation and dismantled it from the foundations," Sharf asserted, adding that the position of national coach is "too big for him."

Ben Shimon's tenure has been marked by a series of failures, according to Sharf, including previous coaching stints at major Israeli clubs like Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Beitar Jerusalem, as well as a failed attempt with the Cyprus national team. Sharf questioned the decision to appoint Ben Shimon in the first place, especially given his past track record.

"If Ran Ben Shimon has any self-respect after trampling on our national honor, he must lay down his keys and resign himself before Thursday's game," Sharf urged. He also criticized the Israeli Football Association chairman, Shino Zuarz, as one of the "responsible parties for the disaster."

Sharf specifically pointed to Ben Shimon's decision to leave Dor Peretz, whom he considers Israel's best player, out of the lineup, and questioned the inclusion of players like Yarden Shua and Eli Dasa who are not playing regularly for their clubs. He lamented the team's apparent lack of discipline, comparing the national team to a "summer camp."
