The Irish team's management, led by coach Heimir Hallgrímsson, confirmed that several symbolic gestures would be made during the game to "commemorate the victims of the conflict." These include players wearing black armbands, a refusal to shake hands with Israeli players, the exchange of pennants, and no pre-match team photograph.
