Israel Weighs Evacuation Options for Citizens in Ethiopia's Conflict Zones
Israel's Foreign Ministry is closely monitoring the situation of its citizens in northern Ethiopia, particularly those located in areas experiencing escalating security tensions. The ministry stated it is "continuously examining exit options from the region in cooperation with local factors and in accordance with developments and security conditions on the ground."
Several dozen Israelis and other foreign nationals are reportedly stranded in and around the Tigray conflict zone, facing difficulties in evacuating. All airports in the affected region are currently non-operational, and travel by road is deemed dangerous.
The ministry's statement comes amid ongoing fighting in Ethiopia, which has created a precarious security environment for foreign nationals in the northern parts of the country.
