Around 20 Israelis Stranded in Ethiopia Amidst Regional Fighting

Approximately 20 Israeli citizens are currently stranded in Lalibela, a city in northern Ethiopia, unable to return home due to ongoing armed conflict. The clashes are occurring between government forces and rebels in the Amhara region, where Lalibela is located. Flights to Lalibela's airport were suspended on September 24th as a result of the fighting in the city's vicinity.

One Israeli national in Lalibela described the situation as relatively calm within the city, allowing for movement outdoors. They reported having access to food and secure accommodation, though electricity has been cut off. The Israeli news service "Kan" reported on the situation.
