Israel Soccer Coach Ben Shimon Names Starting Lineup for Ireland Match

Israel national soccer team coach Ran Ben Shimon has informed his players of the starting lineup for Sunday's UEFA Nations League match against Ireland. The team is looking to rebound from a disappointing 2-1 loss to Austria in their previous game.

Ben Shimon is making three changes to the starting eleven. Raz Shlomo will replace Idan Nachmias in defense, Gabi Kaniovsky will come in for Dor Peretz in midfield, and Dor Turgeman will start in place of the suspended Sagiv Yehezkel. Daniel Peretz will remain in goal, with Roy Revivo, Nikita Stoyanov, Guy Mizrahi, and Raz Shlomo forming the defense. The midfield will consist of Eliel Peretz, Oscar Gloukh, and Gabi Kaniovsky, while the attack will feature Manor Solomon and Anan Khalaili on either side of Dor Turgeman.

Addressing the team, Ben Shimon emphasized the physical and direct style of play expected from the Irish, contrasting it with Austria's approach. He also urged his players to disregard external comparisons to past Israeli national teams, stating that they alone define the current team's identity.

"Don't let the outside noise compare you to past Israeli national teams," Ben Shimon told his players. "Only you will determine the identity of this team. You are the ones who will decide what happens with this team, without any comparisons. We need to improve things tactically, not mentally, because mentally you are teaching us how to behave and act. The tactical obligation is ours, to make the right decisions, improve game intelligence, and find good solutions."
