Maya Wertheimer Tears Up as Son Eats Egg for First Time After Severe Allergy

Israeli social media star Maya Wertheimer shared an emotional moment as her young son, Nach, successfully ate a hard-boiled egg for the first time. This milestone was achieved during a controlled medical exposure process designed to help him overcome a severe egg allergy.

Wertheimer, an actress and host, documented the event on Instagram, describing her overwhelming relief and tears of joy. "I burst into tears today, I had no more tears left in my eyes. How much I prayed for this moment," she wrote.

The journey to this point was fraught with fear. Wertheimer recalled discovering Nach's allergy when he swelled up after tasting an omelet. Since then, the couple, including her husband Asaf Zamir, has worked with specialists, enduring anxious moments where Wertheimer felt she "stopped breathing" every time Nach experienced a reaction.

She also recounted a hurtful incident at a parent meeting where another mother casually asked about egg allergies in relation to cake baking, expressing concern about it being a "nightmare." Wertheimer responded calmly, stating, "My heart sank. I was embarrassed, took a deep breath, looked her in the eyes, smiled and said, 'My son.'" Despite the sting, she chose understanding, acknowledging the mother might not have grasped the severity before having children with allergies.

Wertheimer concluded by urging greater public awareness of the dangers posed by allergens in public spaces, cautioning parents about the risks of consuming items like snacks or eggs in places where other children might be exposed.
