Popular Givatayim Shawarma Shop Closes Abruptly After One Year

Shwarma Davidovich, a highly regarded shawarma restaurant in Givatayim, has ceased operations without prior notice. Located at 5 Tapuachay Yisrael Street, the establishment stopped serving customers at the beginning of September 2026, and its premises are now marked as 'permanently closed.' The restaurant had opened just over a year ago and quickly garnered a loyal following among locals and shawarma enthusiasts from across the Gush Dan region.

The sudden closure has left patrons without explanation, sparking numerous inquiries on social media platforms dedicated to shawarma lovers. Unlike typical business closures, there was no farewell message or official statement released by Davidovich to explain the reasons behind its abrupt shutdown.

This closure follows a recent trend of restaurant shutdowns in the area. Just two days prior, the long-standing Okinawa restaurant in Tel Aviv's Levantine neighborhood was issued a one-month administrative closure order due to the employment of a Palestinian resident without a permit. Similarly, a well-known restaurant on Haifa's beachfront was also closed this week after two undocumented individuals were apprehended on the premises.
