Police Dismantle Surveillance Cameras, Seize Drugs in Northern Israel
Police in Kiryat Ata, part of the Asher district, conducted operations in various areas to combat crime and enhance public safety. During an investigation in Basmat Tab'un, detectives and the Yassam special patrol unit raided a residential complex suspected of links to criminal elements. Authorities reported dismantling and removing seven surveillance cameras and six transmitters from the building's roof, which they believe were used by criminals to monitor the neighborhood and public spaces for illicit activities.
In a separate operation in the center of Kiryat Ata, police arrested a suspect during a proactive crime-fighting initiative in the Shafevet Center area. Approximately 160 grams of suspected cannabis were found in the suspect's possession. The individual was taken into custody and transferred to the police station for further investigation.
