Meni Assayag Threatens Kaplan Protest Activists After Wife Receives Abusive Call

Screenwriter and media personality Meni Assayag has issued explicit threats against activists from the Kaplan protest movement, following what he described as a personal red line being crossed. An anonymous individual reportedly called Assayag's wife from a blocked number to curse and insult him.

In a strong social media post, Assayag stated he would not let the incident or online slander slide. "The Kaplanist who called my wife is blocked... and also all the commenters who slander and libel freely, obviously I cannot reach all of you," Assayag wrote, before directly threatening those he could reach: "But those I do reach (and it could be any one of you), I can promise that I will make you miserable and mess up your crooked form. There will be no mercy and no compassion."

Assayag also targeted "Haaretz" journalist Uri Misgav, accusing him of fueling the hostile atmosphere. "And then the scum Uri Misgav who incites you, will leave you abandoned and forsake you. Because that's how it is with gangs that worship traitors, there is no real brotherhood and no real loyalty," Assayag stated, concluding with "See you soon" and the message "You do not belong to Israel!"

The outburst comes amid a recent escalation of threats against Assayag. He recently revealed a disturbing post on X (formerly Twitter) by an anonymous user calling him "not of Israel, you are of Bibiism... you have no connection to the Jewish people, you are an "island" [a derogatory term]." The same user continued with extreme language, suggesting Assayag should be burned with his "defective descendants" and suffer on a "small fire."
