Israeli Forces Storm Birzeit University During Final Exams

Israeli forces entered the campus of Birzeit University, reaching the Martyrs' Monument area before withdrawing, according to press sources. No arrests were reported during the incursion, which occurred while students were taking their final exams. The university administration condemned the raid, stating that the forces' presence created an atmosphere of intimidation and terror for students. The university emphasized that targeting educational institutions and disrupting academic activities violates the sanctity of universities, which are protected under international conventions and laws.

Birzeit University's administration linked the forces' entry to the disruption of the educational environment during the summer semester's final exams. They stressed that continuing academic activities requires a safe environment for students and that the incident contradicted international protections for educational institutions. This is not the first time the university has faced such incursions; its campus was raided in January, and numerous other raids have been documented in recent years.

Birzeit University has approximately 13,000 students enrolled across nine faculties and 174 academic programs for the 2025/2026 academic year. The university continues to protest what it considers a violation of its educational integrity and a disruption of academic processes.
