Woman Found Dead in Haifa, Partner Arrested on Suspicion of Murder
A woman in her 30s was found unresponsive and critically injured on Independence Street in Haifa early Friday morning. Paramedics attempted resuscitation and transported her to Rambam Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Police have arrested her 28-year-old partner for questioning regarding his involvement, though they stated all investigative avenues are being explored. However, suspicion has since strengthened that the incident is a homicide.
The woman's partner reportedly called the police at approximately 12:43 AM to report the incident. Responding officers and Magen David Adom paramedics found the victim in the stairwell of a building suffering from a severe upper body injury. She was evacuated to the hospital while resuscitation efforts were underway.
Police stated that officers from the Haifa and Carmel stations arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. The deceased's body will be transferred to the Forensic Institute for examination, as is customary. Authorities plan to request an extension of the partner's detention in court on Friday, based on the ongoing investigation and its findings.
