Gaza Displacement Camps Hit in Israeli Strikes, Casualties Reported

Israeli forces conducted strikes across the Gaza Strip on Friday, targeting areas including east of Gaza City and north of Khan Younis, with reports of attacks on displaced persons' tents. The actions are described as violations of a fragile ceasefire agreement. These incidents follow understandings reached in July 2026 regarding a transition to the second phase of a truce, announced by then-U.S. President Donald Trump on July 31, 2026, though alleged Israeli violations have continued.

In a separate incident, the Israeli military announced Friday the deaths of two soldiers in what it termed an "operational aerial incident" involving an Israeli drone during battles in Gaza, according to Israeli media. The Palestinian Civil Defense reported that several displaced individuals were injured early Friday when an Israeli strike hit a tent in the Al-Sawarka area of the town of Al-Zawaydeh in central Gaza. An Israeli drone also fired two missiles in the same area, coinciding with heavy fire from Israeli vehicles near the Bureij refugee camp.

In Gaza City, Israeli forces reportedly engaged in intense gunfire in the northwest, while helicopters fired east of the city. Southern Gaza saw artillery shelling and heavy fire from Israeli vehicles in areas south and east of Khan Younis, with helicopter fire also reported east of the city. Israeli forces also deployed smoke and gas canisters east of Al-Qarara town, north of Khan Younis.

Over the preceding 24 hours, these Israeli attacks resulted in the deaths of four Palestinians and left dozens injured, according to data from Gaza.
